Leamington-Essex County transit link!
If Norfolk County can do it, no reason Leamington hasn't been able to. Port Rowan & Waterford are MUCH smaller rural communities but they're on a transit link system devised by their County Municipal service Techs...it has community sponsorships [I presume] & Ontario Trillium Foundation FUNDING to support implementation & operating costs...yet for decades Leamington council has lamented & bemoaned that the costs do not justify the means to give disadvantaged persons who can't get from Leamington to Windsor the more AFFORDABLE option to access specialists, get to Court dates, legal aid appointments, attend counselling or employment training programs. To educate themself through a business college or post-secondary insitution...it would open a WHOLE OTHER WORLD of which they've been boxed into Leamington stagnating less the available retail provisions to meet the most basic of needs. Nearly 25 years since I've been in the community & not much by way of employment service, training or education. Just english as a second language & volunteer coordination. No medical specialists here. Limited legal....minimal duty counsel. Leamington Courthouse does NOT receive filing or service of documents, has to be done in Windsor. What say you...when do we start taking leadership as a community & giving our people opportunity?http://www.ridenorfolk.ca/
